Koyo has established itself with aerospace engineers, automakers and industrial manufacturers around the world. The business has gone on to attain ISO/TS 16949:2009 certification (now IATF 16949:2016) at all their bearing manufacturing facilities whilst the JTEKT corporation – which also manufactures steering systems and drive chain components – was ranked 18th largest global OEM parts supplier in the automotive industry by Auto News.

Combining the expertise of Koyo with the scale of JTEKT produces a solid foundation to for manufacturers to specify Koyo products throughout their New Product Development (NPD) and MRO processes for automotive, aviation and agricultural manufacturing. Koyo produce bearings for a range of commercial aviation applications including actuators, control surfaces, engines, landing gear, hub units, transmissions and aircraft ancillary systems.

The business is constantly using their knowledge, expertise and experience to utilise the latest materials and manufacturing technology to produce better products such as high-performance track rollers for flap and slat actuation systems and ball and cylindrical roller bearings for jet engine main shafts of aircrafts and helicopters. Koyo manufacturers it’s bearings so that they maintain high performance and efficiency, even in severe operating conditions over extended periods of time while supporting high load and rotation.

Life span, weight and capacity aren’t the only challenges the Koyo and JTEKT design team tackle head on producing bearings for use in special environments where regular bearings made from bearing steel and lubricant such as oil and grease cannot be used. Koyo develop and adapt the latest technology, manufacturing processes and materials to develop their range of Extreme Special Environment (EXSEV) for clean, vacuum, high-temperature or corrosive environments.

Together, Koyo and JTEKT Corporation own and operate eighteen bearings plants in seven countries and 6 R&D Technical Engineering Centres across three continents. Their combined engineering and manufacturing capabilities range from super large bearings with outer diameters of seven meters to miniature bearings with inner diameters as small as one millimetre.
